Condition

Good condition for an object of this type and age. Wedge-shaped loss to the back of the integrally-carved plinth and through proper left heel, restored and with chipping adhesive. Spots and oxidation to reflective metallic mirror backing. Cracks to proper right edge of mirror. Chipping around edges of charge materials, with some edges filled in later for stabilization. Chipping to vegetal adhesive around glass inlay in the eyes. Marks, nicks, scratches, abrasions, small chips, and flaking. Fine glossy dark reddish brown and blackened patina. Merton D. Simpson Gallery inventory number "4977" painted in white on underside.
