on a pale green ground, the crowned Mother of God and the Christ Child embracing each other in the traditional pose of the Vladimirskaya, painted with deep colours, the ochre garments embellished with gold ornaments and highlights

Condition

A vertical crack running from top to bottom restored and retouched, another vertical crack appearing running through the face of the Mother of god, some loss of paint and levkas in the maphorion and a large patch of restoration in the upper right border
