rectangular, the case veneered with birch, the hinged cover applied with scrolling floral mounts, centered with a cast and chased oval with the central elements of the Russian Imperial Seal (Gosudarstvennyi gerb), the rim with ribbon-tied reeded mounts and the base with beaded mount, struck with workmaster's initials, Fabergé in Cyrillic with Imperial warrant, 84 standard
