Catalogue Note

Nicholas II and Alexandra Fedorovna purchased this jeweled hat pin for 75 rubles on December 13, 1906. They split the purchase between their chancelleries, so the piece was probably intended as a Christmas gift for a family member. We are grateful to Svetlana Chestnykh for assistance in cataloguing this lot.
