  • tempera on panel; gilded silver, enamel, velvet backing
  • 12 1/2 x 10 3/8 in.; 31.8 x 26.4 cm
the oklad richly chased and engraved, Moscow, 1776, Grigorii Andreev Plotov, the halo in cloisonné enamels, apparently Tula, mid-nineteenth century, with Cyrillic initials LA of an unidentified master

Condition

the icon with some damage from the back of the oklad and areas of restoration (particularly around the Holy Figures' eyes), some small losses to enamel consistent with age and with small losses dents to oklad edges.
