  • each page approx. 423 by 325 mm 16 5/8 by 12 3/4 in
The complete book, comprising twenty stencils printed in colors, after collages and cut paper designs, with facsimile text by the artist, 1947, signed in pencil on the justification page, this copy numbered 41, from the edition of 250 (there were also 20 hors commerce  impressions and a portfolio edition of 100), published by Tériade, Paris, on Arches wove paper, accompanied by the original paper wrapper, boards and slipcase (20 prints)

Condition

The full sheets, with vibrant colors, in good condition. There is infrequent and very pale off-printing on some text pages. The paper wrappers are slightly toned overall and show a few pale fox marks. The slipcase and spine of the boards slightly attenuated, occasional minor surface soiling on the slipcase. Very minor imperfections on the individual plates are as follows: Title page - a few very pale fox marks visible in the unprinted areas of the sheet. "L'enterrement" - three areas of discoloration in the deckle of the upper left sheet edge. "Le Lagon" - the red at the right sheet edge is mottled (this is a printing imperfection and not a condition defect).
