Description

  • walnut, pine, poplar, marble
  • 91cm. high, 128cm. wide, 65cm. deep; 2ft. 11¾in., 4ft. 2½in., 2ft. 1½in.
with a later inset Siena marble top, with two long drawers and later handles, the whole with reserves carved with scrolls and rocailles, on cabriole legs, the knees carved with foliage

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. There are hairline cracks and construction cracks generally as visible in catalogue photograph and old minor restorations generally to the veneer commensurate with age and normal usage. Evidence of previous handles. There are minor losses to the veneer especially along the concave top which can easily be restored. There is minor old insect damage to the apron. There is a vertical crack to the rear right stile which would benefit from being filled.The marble top is in overall good condition with some very minor pitting and two small areas of infill. The commode is walnut and pine.
