- oil on canvas
- 35 1/2 x 40 1/8 inches
Provenance
Gift of Sonia W. Schwartz and Harriet W. Goldstein to the High Museum of Art in 1977 (inv. no. 1977.2).
Literature
E.M. Safran, European Art in the High Museum, Atlanta 1984, p. 119, reproduced.
Condition
The painting has a recent relining and the painting has been a little pressed in the process. Inspection under UV reveals retouching to the craquelure throughout the sky, though this has been sensitively applied, and some minor strengthening in the architecture and trees where some of the browns have sunk slightly. There are very small losses to the sky in the upper left hand corner. The painting may benefit from a very light clean and revarnish to freshen the image.
Offered in a carved gilt wood frame.
