  • Still lifes with fruit and flowers, a pair
  • the panel containing the pineapple and squirrel indistinctly signed lower right
  • both, oil on panel

Condition

Both panels are uncradled, flat and stable. the paint surface on both has been well retained and there is lovely detail and strong coloration throughout. Painting with squirrel under UV: retouches are scattered in sky and background. there are also some, though fewer, in flowers, fruit and leaves mostly in form of reinforcements of the darks and shadows. some small retouches to darks of the squirrel's fur. Painting with cat under UV: as with the other picture, there are scattered retouches in sky, background and ledge, and scattered on flowers and leaves, with a bit more concentrated on strawberries. some on darks of cat. there is no need for further work and these paintings can be hung in their present state. Offered in elaborately carved and gilt wood frames with some nicks.
