Description

  • Ships moored off a rocky coastline with fishermen unloading their catch
  • signed lower left: A. Willarts
  • oil on canvas, laid on panel

Provenance

In the collection of the family of the present owner for at least the last fifty years.

Condition

The canvas has come loose from the panel and is buckling in the centre. The paint surface is secure and appears to be in good condition under a dirty varnish. There are a few scattered very small losses. Inspection under UV light is impeded by the aforementioned varnish. Offered in a gilt trumeau mirror in good condition.
