Oil on canvas, lined. The picture surface is somewhat thin with pressed craquelure, but in generally good condition with a clean varnish. Under UV light, there are scattered older inpaints visible throughout the background; in the shadows of the sitter's skirt; and to address craquelure in the sitter's face and chest. There is also a thin line of inpainting, likely to repair a tear, that extends horizontally from the far left edge to the dog's eye.
