Condition

This work is in good condition overall. There are pinholes at the corners and all four edges are deckled. There are scattered pastel smudges and a very slight undulation to the sheet, which appear inherent to the artist's working method. The sheet has yellowed slightly along the left and right edges, and there is scattered evidence of foxing on the top and bottom edges. The sheet is hinged verso to the matte, intermittently along the edges. Framed under Plexiglas.

Catalogue Note

The fine art collection at Hasbro, Inc. was conceived and curated to interface with the spirit of the company. There was a strong emphasis on innovation, new ideas and a sense of play. The collection was the idea of Stephen Hassenfeld, then President and CEO of Hasbro. The collection was curated by Nancy Rosen in 1987 when Hasbro opened its former New York Showroom on 23rd street. Many of the works hung in the lobby, mezzanine and the offices.

Giving back has been part of Hasbro's DNA since its inception in 1923.  The Hasbro Children's Fund, Inc., the charitable arm of the Company, received the art collection as a gift from the corporation in 2013.  Proceeds from the sale will help fund programs that service children in need around the world.
