The front set with two pear-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 3.00 carats and a marquise-shaped diamond weighing approximately 1.05 carats, the necklace further set with numerous round and pear-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 54.50 carats, length 14½ inches; fitted with pendant loop; circa 1957.

Condition

In good condition. The large pear-shaped diamonds are approximately E-F color, VS clarity. The large marquise-shaped diamond is approximately F color, VS clarity. The remaining diamonds are approximately F-H color with some I-J examples, VVS-VS clarity. Highly flexible. Please note that a sketch of a necklace of identical design is illustrated in Harry Winston: The Ultimate Jeweler by Laurence S. Krashes, page 207. According to description provided by the author, the total carat weight is approximately 64.00 carats. On October 24, 1990, Sotheby's auction of Magnificent Jewelry offered property from the estate of Libby Moody Thompson, Charlene Thompson's step mother-in-law and a collector of Harry Winston. The sale catalogue includes a portrait of Libby Moody Thompson in which she appears to be wearing the same necklace offered here. Scans of the Harry Winston sketch as well as the relevant pages from Sotheby's 1990 catalogue are available upon request.
