Silver-Topped Gold, Ruby, Emerald and Diamond Brooch

Designed as a floral spray with the largest flowerhead set en tremblant, centering an oval-shaped emerald measuring approximately 10.7 by 9.5 mm, with a bud set with a pear-shaped emerald measuring approximately 8.7 by 5.7 mm, an additional flowerhead set with a round ruby measuring approximately 6.2 by 6.0 mm, further set with round, old mine and cushion-cut rubies, accented by round, pear, old mine and square-cut diamonds weighing approximately 6.65 carats, gross weight approximately 15 dwts; mid-19th Century.

In good condition with minor discoloration to the gold commensurate with age. The rubies are medium-deep to medium pinkish red, moderately included with a few examples of surface-reaching inclusions and abrasions at the facet junctions, not apparent when worn. The emeralds are medium-deep bluish green with minor color zoning, moderately to heavily included. The diamonds are approximately H-L color, VS-SI clarity. Length approximately 2 3/4 inches.
