Catalogue Note

In 1926 Grosz started work on a series of drawings, entitled Der Weg Allen Fleisches (The Way of All Flesh), six of which are reproduced in his book Das neue Gesicht der herrschenden Klasse (published in Berlin in 1930). The present lot is similar to the drawing Der Weg Allen Fleisches V, which is included in that book.
