Catalogue Note
Commissioned in 1972 to a specific design, this table depicts the epic tale of St. George and the Dragon beneath its glass surface. The female narrator stands on a balcony at one corner, orating the story before an audience. The presence of a shrub, a hallmark of Diego's later work, sets the scene for the heroic battle, while many figures delicately balance on the table's spindles.
