The work is executed on a military postcard (cream wove paper). The sheet is affixed to a window mat along the top and bottom edges. The verso is inscribed. Minor skinning to the upper edge is present on verso. One tiny surface nick at the center of the composition is present and the paper is slightly faded overall. The work is in very good condition.

Being unable to find new post cards in the country I felt it so hopeless I made my own. Allow me to send you the first of the series. It is a little cubist but theres nothing I can do, that is how I see things (its a landscape with two soldiers (see if you can find the soldiers!)) In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.
