Condition
Executed on cream wove paper, laid down on card. There is an artist's pinhole at each corner and also at the centre of the left and right edges. The upper edge is unevenly cut and the sheet is slightly time-stained. There is a tiny paper loss to the centre of the lower edge and some extremely minor medium rubbing and tiny losses to the man's coat and surrounding area. There is a small ring of staining to the upper right corner (probably relating to the artist's pinhole) and some barely visible surface scratches in places, mainly to the sky. Otherwise, this work is in overall good condition.
Colours: fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, though the colours in the lower half are slightly more saturated in the original.
