• with manual winding jewelled lever movement, housed within the main globe, a gold map of the world and profusely set throughout with brilliant cut diamonds, the sea represented by mirrored white metal, encased throughout in rock crystal, surrounding the globe and acting as the equator a gold and rock crystal independently rotating ring set with 24 hour numerals, gold and diamond set Arabic numerals every three hours and separated by gold and lozenge cut ruby numerals, the whole globe supported by carefully formed gold sculpture of four elephants decorated in the mogul theme, elaborately set with emeralds, rubies and diamonds interspersed with hanging and bejewelled tassels, the whole scene on an eight sided and stepped citrine base, each step with gold and diamond set borders • case signed and numbered, movement signed

Condition

Overall the clock is in lovely condition. Natural inclusions to the rock crystal, diamonds are of excellent quality and clarity and give tremendous brilliance and brightness. Movement will require a service and overhaul and Sotheby's will cover all expenses of this. Elephants are in good condition and all stones are intact. Coming with the original numbered box it is a stunning work of art.
