Description

  • René Boivin
  • gold, colored diamond, citrine, ruby
The reclining labrador retriever with a fully articulated torso, ears, paws and tail set with numerous round and single-cut diamonds of near colorless, brown and yellow hues weighing approximately 28.95 carats, the collar set with 19 buff-topped rubies, completed by two cabochon citrine eyes, accented by a blackened gold nose and pads on the back paws, signed René Boivin Paris, with French assay and workshop marks; the collar removes for wear as a ring, size 7.

Condition

In very good condition. The body of the dog is articulated, very flexible and well made. It is designed to be worn on a person's shoulder. The diamonds range from light yellow to medium slightly orangy yellow to medium dark brownish yellow. The various hues used are meant to invoke the various highlights in a dog's fur. The dog's ears move up and down. The rubies on the collar are medium slightly purplish red, well-matched for color and eye-clean and the collar comes off of the dog to become a ring. The eyes are likely cabochon citrines and they are medium dark slightly brownish orange. Stamped with a workshop mark for Profillet; probably designed by Juliette Moutard. Please note the diamonds have not been tested for natural origin of color.
