Laid down on an old mount. Small loss on sleeve/leg. Otherwise good condition.

Catalogue Note
Lips was a pupil of Fuseli. He left Switzerland for Germany in 1780 and arrived in Rome in 1782.
The figure was identified as Moses in the Christie's catalogue, but he is not conventionally represented seated.
