A description of the monument which Glavany proposed should be erected at the entrance to the Suez canal honouring those involved in the project. The inscription to be engraved on the sides of the monument was to be in eight languages: Egyptian hieroglyphics, Hebrew, Greek, Assyrian cuneiform, Turkish, Latin, Arabic and French. These are reproduced, the hieroglyphics being a coloured lithograph.
