Description

The pendant of lozenge-shaped outline quartered by diamond-set gold pyramids interspersed with gold openwork of fleur-de-lys motif decorated with white, black and blue enamel, further accented by four cabochon rubies, centring upon a single pearl, supporting a pendant  set with one drop-shaped pearl and one cabochon ruby, maker's marks for Robert Phillips and Carlo Giuliano, later fitted case stamped Wartski.

Condition

Mounted in gold. Overall good condition, with some minor abrssions and scratches commensurate with age and wear. Maker's marks for Robert Phillips and Carlo Giuliano to the reverse. Pearls well matched with slight grey body colour and rose overtones.

The two signatures on the pendant illustrate the relationship that Carlo Giuliano had with prominent retail houses during his first years in London, such as Robert Phillips of Cockspur Street.
