the rounded sides supported on a straight foot, painted to the interior with a central medallion enclosing a shou character roundel surrounded by eight further shou characters and interlocking ruyi strapwork, the exterior similarly decorated with stylised shou characters between a band of C-scrolls and interlocking ruyi scrolls, inscribed with a six-character reign mark within a double-circle

Provenance

Collection of the Varr family, Sweden, acquired in Japan in the 1950s.

Condition

The dish has a circa 10cm., wide crescent-shaped area of overpainting to the rim, otherwise is in good condition.
