carved in the form of a recumbent phoenix with head raised, a short incurved beak and trailing crest of ruyi-shaped feathers, its plumage marked with fine incisions and its claws neatly tucked beneath, the white translucent stone with faint occasional russet veins and a pale calcified patch to the chest of the bird
