Description

the slender figure standing barefoot on an upturned lotus base, wearing a plaited robe fastened at the waist leaving the torso bare and cascading in undulous folds over his knees, with a veil draped around shoulders and arms, his hands held in dhyanamudra, his oval face with finely carved features marked with the urna and set in a meditative expression, framed by pendulous earlobes and tightly curled hairs covering the domed ushnisha, fitted black lacquer base

Condition

There is some wear to the gilding as visible on the illustration in the catalogue with associate malachite encrustation, pitting and dents to the surface with a small crack to the lotus base. Apart from this the Buddha is in good condition.
