Catalogue Note

The caption reads "Every morning the five companions awaited the arrival of the postman. As soon as they saw him they ran up to him and asked if there was anything for them. Alas! The postman looked for a long time - there was nothing". The drawing was published in the Daily Sketch on 18 November 1936. The coloured version appeared on page 7 of the 1940 edition.
