the deep rounded sides rising from a short straight foot to an everted rim, finely painted in subtle shades of cobalt-blue with magpies perched on the branches of an old gnarled tree and in flight, the interior with a medallion enclosing a bird perched on a blossoming prunus branch, all within double line borders, apocryphal Chenghua mark in underglaze blue

Condition

The bowl is in overall good condition. The interior and exterior with scattered minor burst air bubbles and iron spots. The base with firing tears, burst air bubbles and one iron spot, the foot rim with two firing cracks.
