An Italian carved giltwood mirror, Tuscan, mid 18th century

with a shaped divided plate within a frame carved with scrolls, flowers and foliage on a trelliswork ground, the scrolled cresting with a winged female mask, each corner with a winged female bust supporting a vase of flowers, the apron with an unidentifiable coat of arms

In overall good conserved condition. Colour of gilding slightly darker overall than in teh catalogue photograph. Old very minor restorations to the carving which have been very well executed and hardly noticeable. Old very minor marks and chips to the gilding which are hardly noticeable. Some hairline construction cracks generally which can be left and are consistent with age. The gilding is slightly dirty and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. There is a very minor section chipped off a leaf to the lower left side of the coat-of-arms but this is hardly noticeable. On the opposite side below the female mask there is a very small section of scroll recarved which has been left ungilded but can be touched up.
