  • 17 by 17 1/8 in. 43.2 by 43.5 cm.
of Campana type, finely modeled in shallow relief with two ladies walking to right, each personifying a season, Summer holding a garland in her right hand and poppies and sheafs of wheat in her left hand, Spring holding a kid in her right hand and a basket of fruit in her left hand, each wearing a chiton and himation, a festooned frieze surmounted by palmettes above the scene, remains of pink, red, black, yellow, and green pigment over white gesso.

Condition

Repaired from seven fragments with restoration to lower right corner, along about 9 ½ inches of bottom edge, and 3 inch section between left hand figure and goat, remaining gesso and pigment as shown and described, scattered chips and abrasions particularly to tips of palmettes, left edge fragmentary.
