Condition

The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This painting has been recently restored. It should be hung in its current condition in its original frame. The panel is flat and well supported by two horizontal wooden reinforcements. The paint layer is stable, clean, and varnished. Under ultraviolet light, a thin line of retouches is visible above the head in the center of the panel. In the face itself, there are half a dozen tiny vertical cracks in the cheeks and in the chin that may have possibly received very small restorations. Under ultraviolet light, a great deal of the original color reads very strongly, but none of this heavily fluorescent color corresponds to any retouches. The condition is obviously excellent.
