Description

  • Gold, silver, diamond
The chased gold frame supporting a row of pinched collet-set table-cut and rose diamonds, to a surmount with floral and foliate gold work, capped with similarly cut stones, each side later set with rows of fine link chains allowing tiara to be worn as necklace, inner circumference approximately 365mm, Dutch assay marks, chain back not illustrated.

Condition

Stamped with Dutch assay marks for gold. Diamonds of mixed colours and clarities, some inclusions visible with the naked eye, few minor chips and abrasions. Scratches to mount consistent with age and wear, visible solder marks to reverse. Later chains soldered to either end of tiara frame with secure clasp and safety catch to side. Hair comb now deficient. In good condition.
