Description

  • 45.2 by 35.1cm, 17 3/4 by 13 3/4 in.
representing the kneeling saint Vasily Veliky in front of an altar, his hands raised in prayer towards the Holy Spirit, the bishop's vestments of the saint and the curtains on the right finely decoratd with coloured champlevé enamel, the background engraved with rays emanating from the Dove of the Holy Spirit, the borders with chased ornaments and two blue, white and red enamel roundels in the top corners, 84 standard

Condition

The painting covered with dirt and darkened varnish, some damage due to the silver oklad, some minor parts of the enamel missing
