Description

  • 30.5 by 27.8cm, 12 by 10 7/8 in.
the oklad repoussé and chased, the six saints depicted on an ochre coloured ground with sparse vegetation, all looking up at the Nativity scene in the upper centre, the icon executed in a refined style reminiscent of Yaroslavl icon painting in the late 17th and early 18th century, apparently unmarked 

Condition

Damage to the panel in the upper right border, a large patch in the centre of the lower border restored, a patch of restoration in the background left to the figure of Yulita, another patch of restoration in the beard of the monk Zosima, a further patch of restoration visible in the lower left part of the open scroll of Zosima and in the background next to this scroll, some wear and some nimor retouching all over the painting
