Condition
Original canvas, which has a small rectangular patch on the reverse at the centre. The paint surface is dirty with an uneven layer of discoloured varnish. There is craquelure throughout the composition, some of which is raised where paint has been applied most thickly. Pin holes are visible along the left hand inner frame edge, and there are minor chips of paintloss scattered in places throughout. UV light shows retouching to the corners, a patch of retouching to the centre of the lower edge and some further minor spots of retouching in places elsewhere. Held in a simple painted wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
