Condition

This beautiful early photograph is in essentially excellent condition. Grading this salt print on a scale of one to ten – a ten being a print that has rich brown dark tones, creamy highlights, and retains all of its original detail – this print rates a nine. This salt print has rich tones and sets forth a great deal of detail. The paper is untrimmed, and Talbot's brushstrokes can be seen in the margins. No watermark can be read in the paper.
