The canvas is relined and stable and the paint surface is in good condition. There are minor losses to the foot of the statue and in the foliage to the right of it and minor, old, infilled losses in the sky and on the statue that are faintly visible to the naked eye. Inspection under ultra violet light is somewhat impaired by a milky varnish but reveals an old patch of restoration, in the sky upper left, very minor infilled losses in the statue, sky and left hand section of the foliage, a small number in the skirt of the seated female figure and one on the waist of the child, lower left. The figures remain in very good condition and appear largely untouched. Offered in a carved, gilt wood frame.
