Condition
The support consists of a single uncradled panel with a very slight convex bow. The painting has recently been cleaned and restored and is in very good overall condition. There is an old repaired 10 cm split running in fromthe left hand side of the panel in the lower left hand corner, which is held by an old inset batten on the reverse. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals restoration to this split and to a 1 x 4 cm old loss in the left centre. Other intervention is restricted to local retouchings in the sky and distance and to most of the shadowed areas in the foreground, sometimes quite heavily.
This lot is offered with a a modern parcel gilt and sgraffito style frame with a green velvet inner mount, in good condition.
