Condition
The sheet is sound. It is not laid down and appears to be attached to the mount in places about the edges. It cockles slightly and the upper edge is inherently uneven. The paper has very slightly discoloured otherwise the work appears in good original condition.
Held under glass in a simple wood frame with a white mount; unexamined out of frame.

The present drawing is a study for the highly important painting Shepherds near Knossos (1947), which was sold in these rooms, 13th December 2007, lot 8, setting at the time a new World Record Price for Craxton's work.
