Of floral design, the necklace set with 24 pearls graduating in size from approximately 5.6 to 3.6 mm, accented by old mine, old European and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 6.40 carats, length 16 inches; the detachable garland-style pendant centered by an old mine-cut diamond weighing approximately 1.25 carats, topped by one calf's head-shaped diamond weighing approximately .85 carat, further set with numerous old mine, old European and rose-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.85 carats, suspending a pearl drop measuring approximately 11.3 by 8.9 by 9.0 mm; circa 1890. With fitted box.
Condition
In good condition, with light wear commensurate with age and use. The round to near-round pearls have a silvery white to creamy white body color, medium to good luster with some examples showing wrinkling and peeling. The detachable pearl drop has a silvery body color, with evident pitting and ringing, good luster with strong rose overtones. The diamonds are approximately H-J color, VS-SI clarity. Fitted with a safety chain. Pendant set with screwholes on the reverse to allow for a brooch fitting.
