Designed as a garden scene centering an agave plant, set throughout with old European-cut, single-cut and baguette diamonds weighing approximately 2.95 carats, accented by cabochon moonstones, emeralds and rubies, applied with black enamel, signed Mauboussin, France, numbered 4549, French assay marks, one diamond and one emerald missing.

Literature

Mauboussin: Joaillier de l'Emotion, Marguerite de Cerval, 2007, pp. 23-23.

Condition

Diamonds are approximately F-H color and VVS-VS clarity. The rubies and emeralds are bright medium shades of red and green, respectively, and the moonstones have a lovely violetish silver sheen. Minor amount of damage to enamelling to the corners of the lower base, a spot on the upper base near the tip of one of the agave fronds, more significant damage to the base of the urn and evidence of enamel repair on the stem, near the ruby flower petals. A diamond missing near the base of the urn, the missing emerald was adjacent to what looks like the urn's handle. In good condition overall. Provenance: Pierre Berge, Paris, May 16, 2006, lot 220.
