Description

Designed as a stylized peacock feather set in the center with a baroque button pearl measuring approximately 14.3 by 13.9 by 10.6 mm., further set with old European-cut, round and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 10.00 carats, signed Tiffany & Co., suspended from a black silk cord.

Literature

A tiara incorporating a similarly styled peacock feather by Henri Vever, 1901, is illustrated on page 362 of Geoffrey C. Munn's Tiaras.

Condition

Accompanied by a copy of Precious Stone Laboratory report no. 975337 stating natural pearl. Diamonds are approximately G-H color and VS-SI clarity. The pearl is a creamy silver shade with strong overtones of pink and green, with some wrinkling of skin, but of good luster. Signed Tiffany & Co. on the rim of the mounting (right facing). The cord is knotted and looped at the ends, without a clasp. In good condition. Provenance: Sotheby's, Geneva, November 15, 2006, lot 310.
