Description

The octagonal step-cut emerald, framed by circular-cut and baguette diamonds, engraved Monture Cartier and numbered, French assay and maker's marks, case.

August von Finck (1898-1980), thence by descent.

Condition

Stamped with French assay marks for gold. Signed Monture Cartier, indistinctly numbered M 0149. According to the SSEF report, the emerald measures approximately 20.32 x 19.57 x 8.30 mm and weighs approximately 25.67 carats, with some typical crystal inclusions visible under close inspection, few surface reaching, few scratches and nicks on the surface, few abrasions along the girdle, for further information please refer to the report. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 8.50 carats, on average of G-I colour and VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in mounting. Normal signs of wear to the metal, scratches consistent with age and wear. In good condition.
