The variously shaped natural and cultured pearls of aubergine tints highlighted with circular-cut diamonds and one baguette, size 51, French assay marks and indistinct maker's marks for Groëne et Darde.

Condition

Stamped with French assay marks for gold and platinum. Indistinct maker's marks for Gröene et Darde. Due to the mounting, only two pearls from the ring have been tested. The first weighs 24.69 grains and measures approximately 12.55 x 9.70 x 7.50mm, of light grey colour with rosé, purple and green overtones. The second weighs 22.46 grains and measures approximately 12.75 x 9.50 x 6.60mm, of slightly grey with rosé, purple and green overtones, with no indications of artificial colour modification. For further information, please refer to the SSEF report. Other pearls with similar body colour and overtones, with blemishes and banding, good lustre overall. Diamonds bright and lively. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition.

Catalogue Note

This ring is an example of Suzanne Belperron's desire to transpose her designs from bracelets to rings. Indeed she created a bracelet of similar inspiraton which is illustrated on page 52 in the Suzanne Belperron book.
