Description

  • diamond, ruby, platinum
Composed of twenty-three graduated oval rubies together weighing 53.07 carats, each surrounded by marquise- and pear-shaped diamonds together weighing approximately 89.00 carats, highlighted by circular-cut rubies together weighing approximately 14.25 carats, mounted in platinum, length approximately 480mm.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: The rubies weigh from 6.04 to 1.01 carats each. According to Gübelin, GIA and GRS reports, all twenty-three pieces of rubies are natural, of Burmese origin, with no indications of thermal treamtment, of vivid red "Pigeon's Blood" colour. Also accompanied by a Gübelin appendix, "Faidee Red Magic" Monograph GIA Report and GRS Platinum Award highlighting the outstanding quality and rarity of these rubies. Please refer to the reports for details. In our opinion, the rubies have good lustre, of strong red colour, lively stones. Upon 10x loupe, there are natural crystals and fingerprint inclusions in these rubies, which are very common in natural Burmese rubies. The largest ruby has some silky inclusions close to its table, but all other rubies are quite clean to naked eyes and lively. Other tiny round rubies are of vivid red colour, eye clean and lively. Diamonds are generally of very good quality, D to E colours, VVS to VS clarity, charming brilliance. Condition: Platinum mount, very fine and detailed workmanship, very impressive necklace, in mint condition. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please note that jadeite and rubies of Burmese origin and articles of jewellery containing jadeite or rubies of Burmese origin all less than 100 years old may not be imported into the U.S. The purchaser's inability to import any item into the U.S. or any other country as a result of these or other restrictions shall not justify cancellation or rescission of the sale or any delay in payment. Please check with the specialist department if you are uncertain as to whether a lot is subject to these import restrictions, or any other restrictions on importation or exportation.

Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
