Simply set with an Old European-cut diamond weighing 8.29 carats, mounted in platinum.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to GIA report, the circular-cut diamond is D colour, VVS1 clarity. Gübelin report states that the diamond is of D colour, Internally Flawless clarity. Both accompanied with appendix or note stating that this diamond is classified as Type IIa category, Golconda-type diamond. Please refer to the reports and appendix for details. In our opinion, this diamond shows the typical Golconda-type watery glow and antique cutting with open culet, lively brilliance. Condition: Platinum ring mount, in mint condition.

Accompanied by GIA report numbered 1129116398, dated 19 May 2011, stating that the 8.29 carat diamond is D colour, VVS1 clarity; also accompanied by diamond type classification report stating that the diamond is determined to be a Type IIa diamond. Type IIa diamonds are the most chemically pure type of diamond and often have exceptional optical transparency. Further accompanied by Gübelin report numbered 11060151, dated 5 July 2011, stating that the 8.29 carat diamond is D colour, Internally Flawless clarity; also accompanied by notes and appendix stating that the diamond is classified as a Type IIa. "Diamonds of this type, exhibiting an antique cutting style as well as superior quality, are very rare and will most certainly evoke references to the historic term of 'Golconda'."
