Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a copy of a Rolex service document dated 21/07/99 and Rolex presentation case.

This is an unusual version of reference 6239, with a bezel calibrated to 300 units which is a characteristic of the early versions of the reference. The watch contains a calibre 727 movement. It might have been used  temporarily in this transitional model towards the early 1970's when calibre 727 was developed for reference 6263. As the watch is confirmed by Rolex to be of "original Rolex manufacture", we can presume that the present model, with the 300 units bezel and a later calibre, is a transitional model within the evolution of the Rolex Daytona story.
