The T-150 was created in 2001 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the relationship between Tiffany and Patek Philippe. Mr. Philippe Stern and Mr. Thierry Stern were personally involved in the development and design of this model, and committed to limiting the use of this aesthetic, with its unusual semi-linear calendar display and Officer-style case, exclusively to the T-150. A total of 450 Ref. 5150s were made, with 150 examples in yellow, white and pink gold.

As the first retailer for Patek Philippe in America, Tiffany continues to enjoy a flourishing relationship with the firm. Ref. 5150 was the first model that Patek Philippe created in a limited series for an American retailer. In 2008, the first Patek Philippe boutique in America was opened in Tiffany's famed 5th Avenue building in New York City.
