Condition

Painting is on copper (not panel as stated in the printed catalogue). copper plate is flat. there is lifting of the paint surface at right side with a loss to wing of middle bird at far right. there is also lifting along bottom and in fruit at left side. at the moment, these areas seem stable but will need to be attended to by a skilled restorer to prevent any losses. the detail overall is still well retailned. some scuffing at edges from rubbing of the frame. under ultraviolet light: a couple of areas of retouching near upper edge; and some scattered on right and left edges. In an elaborately carved and gilt wood frame.
