The break-fronted upper section centered by a glazed door flanked by a pair of glazed doors each above a drawer, the projecting lower section fitted with a frieze drawer opening to a leather-lined writing slide opening to compartments above a niche fitted with three drawers flanked by a pair of cupboard doors each opening to three drawers raised on ogee-bracket feet.

Condition

Overall in good restored condition; mahogany maintaining a nice color, which is slightly faded and now honey in tone; good surface; the upper section has been fitted for electricity and with removable watered silk panels; the escutcheons to the doors of the upper section are replaced and now with a small infilled patch above each escutcheons where previous hardware was fitted; lock plates to side glazed doors in upper section appear tobe replaced; side doors appear to have later glass panels; central door with a small veneer patch to top left corner; the secretaire drawer opening to a writing surface with replaced leather lining; left covered door wit a vertical age crack with some inpainting; some repairs to cockbeading of three central drawers; the feet with some nicks to edges and some bruises and scuffs; overall with some old marks, scratches, scuffs and bruises, consistent with old age and use.
